Insurance Authorization Specialist / Medical Authorization Coordinator (Full-Time) – Pain Management Office
Location: CORAL SPRING
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our growing medical team. The ideal candidate will have experience obtaining prior authorizations, verifying insurance benefits, and communicating effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and track prior authorizations for procedures, medications, imaging, and treatments
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding pending or denied authorizations
- Submit clinical documentation as required
- Maintain accurate records within EMR systems
- Communicate authorization status with providers, staff, and patients
- Assist with appeals and insurance-related inquiries
- Provide front desk/check-out coverage as needed
- Ensure compliance with insurance and company guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in medical insurance authorizations required
- Pain management experience is a plus
- Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers compensation preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and follow-up abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual is a plus
