Job Description:

NHMFL user program administration
• Oversee annual reporting for the AMRIS and High B/T Facilities, year-round reporting of publications, maintenance of the AMRIS and High B/T user databases, and answering requests from the NSF for additional information regarding the user program
• Develop annual operations plans and budgets
• Recommend and implement operating policies and procedures in the AMRIS and High B/T facilities in compliance with NSF best practices for user facilities
• Assist users with submitting proposals, travel, and access to the AMRIS and High B/T facilities
• Manage user access and onboarding by creating UFIDs and coordinating remote and physical access privileges for both internal University of Florida users and external users.
• Maintain and update user information on the AMRIS and related websites (maglab and chemistry facility) to ensure accurate and current information regarding facility resources, spectrometer descriptions, capabilities, and user guidelines.
• Organize 1-2 training workshops annually for the NHMFL user facilities
• Organize NHMFL related symposia at UF
• Organize annual site visits of External Advisory Committee, Users Committee, and NSF

Outreach and education
• Coordinate NHMFL NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates participation and other STEM outreach related activities in Gainesville
• Develop and coordinate outreach activities with UF faculty and staff
• Maintain AMRIS and High B/T websites
• Coordinate user workshops for NHMFL affiliated projects
• Coordinate an NHMFL speaker service with UF faculty
• Liaise between the AMRIS and High B/T facilities and NHMFL, UF administration, outside agencies and the general public
• Coordinate UF outreach activities with the NHMFL Center for Integrated Research and Learning, user program, diversity program, and public relations office at national conferences, through NHMFL publications and through web media
• Train graduate and undergraduate student volunteers in outreach programs and coordinate their visits to K-12 schools

NHMFL research activities coordination
• Advocate for and advance inter-site and intra-site NHMFL strategic development activities
• Coordinating regular visits of the NHMFL Director and scientific staff between the Gainesville and Tallahassee facilities
• Plan and coordinate conferences such as the NHMFL Users Committee Meeting and the SEMRC
• Develop specific project goals, schedule deliverables, designs work plans, timelines, team meetings and implementation of procedures for NHMFL research projects
• Ensure that appropriate faculty and staff follow agreed deadlines and project timelines

Grants administration
• Coordinate the preparation and submission NHMFL-related grant proposals
• Track submitted proposals, awarded projects, and budget changes
• Oversee project management, annual activities reporting, and grants compliance
• Attends regular RAC meetings to stay informed of the internal processes and external policies

Research activities coordination for NIH RM1 center National Resource for Advance NMR Technology
• Develop and maintain website as required by the NIH RM1 guidelines
• Develop training videos and edit technical documents used in training students and postdocs and disseminating technology developments
• Organize 1-2 one-week training workshops annually for the RM1 center
• Oversee annual reporting, including reporting of publications, maintenance of outreach information on the website, assisting with annual reports to the NIH, organizing any needed NIH site visits
• Assist with organizing the annual EAC meeting for the RM1 center
• Assist users of RM1 technology (DBPs and C&S projects) with submitting proposals, travel, and access to the AMRIS and NMR user facilitie

Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $62,000

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

EDUCATION & TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM- or business-related field

EXPERIENCE
• Experience working with scientists in an academic setting with technically demanding, interdisciplinary projects
• Experience with project management, preferably in a major user instrumentation facility or national lab setting

KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge of various types of computer applications
• Knowledge of various types of data information management systems
• Knowledge of submission, tracking, and reporting of federal, state, and other applicable grants
• Knowledge of university rules/procedures related to travel and purchasing
