Litigation Associate

Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Litigation Associate in Tampa, FL. This role is ideal for an attorney with commercial, business, and civil litigation experience who is ready to manage meaningful case work, interact directly with clients, and contribute to litigation strategy from case inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage commercial, business, and civil litigation matters from intake through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, discovery responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and develop practical litigation strategies.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare clients and witnesses, and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, attorneys, and internal staff.
- Maintain case files, litigation calendars, deadlines, and case management responsibilities.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $90,000 to $120,000 per year.
- Employment type: Direct hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage commercial litigation, business litigation, civil litigation, contract dispute, insurance litigation, and property litigation matters.
- Draft litigation documents, motions, pleadings, discovery, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and provide litigation strategy recommendations.
- Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

- Active Florida Bar License required.
- Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience required.
- Strong legal writing, legal research, and analytical skills.
- Experience managing multiple litigation matters, deadlines, and case priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal support staff.

Preferred Qualifications

- 3 to 5 years of litigation experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial litigation, business litigation, contract disputes, insurance litigation, or property litigation preferred.
- Prior experience taking and defending depositions preferred.
- Courtroom, mediation, arbitration, or trial preparation experience preferred.
