A postdoctoral research position is immediately available in the newly relocated laboratory of Dr. Rumela Chakrabarti at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Department of Surgery at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and well-funded team investigating the function of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment that drive drug resistance in breast cancer.
Research Focus:
The Chakrabarti lab studies the intricate cell signaling pathways between immune cells and cancer stem cells in breast cancer. We utilize a variety of cutting-edge technologies and models to address fundamental questions in onco-immunology. For a detailed list of our research topics, please see the recent publications linked below. The position offers an excellent opportunity for a committed candidate to contribute to a solid research program with clear project goals and strong support for career development.
Key Research Techniques & Models:
Mouse models: Knockout, conditional knockout, transgenic, and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mice. Cell culture models: 2D and 3D patient-derived organoids, as well as co-culture organoid systems involving stem and immune cells. Advanced technologies: Bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing, multiplex IHC/IF. Molecular biology techniques: PCR, Western blot, DNA and RNA isolation. Immunology techniques: Flow cytometry and other methods. Required Qualifications & Skills:
PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field. Proven expertise in molecular biology techniques and cell culture.
