Position Overview

Are you a mechanical engineer ready to transition from production-heavy design into a high-impact leadership role? We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager to steer complex HVAC design initiatives for a premier Florida-based firm. In this role, you aren’t just performing calculations; you are a strategic partner to our clients, architecting sustainable, high-performance building systems that define the modern healthcare and commercial landscape.

Core Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Design: Lead the design of sophisticated HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and layout for large-scale commercial and institutional environments.

• Project Stewardship: Direct the full project lifecycle, managing design milestones, schedules, and multidisciplinary documentation to ensure delivery on time and within budget.

• Technical Excellence: Oversee the production of high-fidelity construction drawings within Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring rigorous accuracy and total code compliance.

• Integrated Coordination: Serve as the primary technical point of contact, collaborating seamlessly with architects, consultants, and internal teams to integrate complex mechanical systems into holistic building designs.

• Client Advocacy: Cultivate and maintain deep-rooted relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor to foster repeat business and long-term partnerships.

• Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance on complex systems including DX, chilled water, pumps, and cooling towers, ensuring the team upholds the highest standards of engineering integrity.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

• Experience: 5+ years of HVAC design experience specifically within the commercial or healthcare sectors.

• Software Proficiency: Expert command of Revit and AutoCAD is mandatory.

• Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of DX systems, chilled water systems, pumps, and cooling towers.

• Regulatory Acumen: Strong familiarity with applicable building codes and industry design standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensure: Active EIT certification (currently on a PE licensure track).

• Leadership: Proven experience acting as a lead project coordinator or managing junior design staff.

• Market Insight: Specialized experience in high-complexity healthcare facility requirements (AHCA/ICRA).
