Commercial Electrical Sales Rep
$65k-$80k+ Base (+ Commission) Job Summary:
The Commercial Electrical Sales Account Executive will play a pivotal role in driving new business growth by identifying, developing, and closing opportunities in the commercial electrical sector. This is a hunter-focused sales role ideal for an individual with strong industry relationships and a deep understanding of commercial construction processes. The successful candidate will manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and relationship building to proposal development and contract negotiation. Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial electrical market.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with construction managers, project managers, general contractors, developers, and other key decision-makers in both the private and public commercial development space.
- Conduct market research to identify high-potential projects and emerging opportunities.
- Manage the sales cycle: prospecting, qualifying leads, presenting solutions, and closing deals.
- Collaborate closely with internal estimating, preconstruction, and project management teams to ensure successful handoff and execution.
- Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and industry functions to expand visibility and connections.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipeline status, and client communications.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in the commercial electrical contracting or related construction industry.
- Proven track record of success in new business development and closing high-value commercial projects.
- Established relationships with key players in commercial development, including construction managers, project managers, and general contractors.
- Strong technical understanding of commercial electrical systems and construction processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and other business development software.
