Wastewater Treatment Tech

Job Description:

• Work with Safety & Compliance to ensure compliance with all city, county, state and federal wastewater standards.
• This would include, but not limited to, monitoring all chemical feeds to achieve proper operating pH’s and ORP’s by adding appropriate chemicals as needed.
• Understanding of chemical composition.
• Will be required to move heavy drums (600 lbs) of chemicals and/or solutions to various locations throughout the facility with the use of lifting and moving equipment: forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and dollies.
• Will be required to operate the filter presses and remove the sludge cakes when full.
• Monitor water tank levels and perform maintenance as needed to maintain safety standards.
• Responsible for all safety issues associated with the waste treatment area, under the guidance of Safety & Compliance that meet OSHA and DEP standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance on Machinery.
• Keep logs of chemicals being used and distributed throughout the production area.
• Monitor and clear floor of chemical drums and label for Hazardous Waste pickup.
• Work with the Safety Committee on punch list items to keep chemicals and wastewater treatment in compliance with city, county, state and federal agencies.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Required to communicate with all levels of management.
• Will be required to perform other duties as may be assigned.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiar with reverse osmosis water production systems, including the cleaning and maintenance of the filtering system, both chemically and mechanically.
• Pool Technician - mix chemicals for proper pH levels.
• Plumbing.
• Knowledgeable in waste chemical disposal storage.
• Working experience with hand and electrical tools.
• Familiar with OSHA Requirements.
• Forklift Certified. If not, willing to be certified.

Hours:

• Monday thru Friday 7am - 4:30pm (schedule subject to change).
• Some overtime may be required.
