We are hiring a dependable Daytime Baker to support daily production of baked goods, including pastries, cookies, and sourdough breads. This role is ideal for a baker who is comfortable working across multiple product categories and understands both structured recipes and fermentation-based bread processes. The position focuses on consistency, quality, organization, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily production of baked goods including pastries, cookies, breakfast items, and specialty products
- Prepare, maintain, and bake sourdough breads following fermentation and proofing standards
- Feed and manage sourdough starters and levains
- Mix, scale, shape, proof, and bake products according to recipes and production pars
- Follow daily prep and bake schedules to ensure case and wholesale readiness
- Monitor dough development, fermentation timing, and bake quality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workstation
- Label, date, and properly store ingredients and finished products
- Track inventory usage and communicate low stock levels
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Support recipe consistency and product quality control
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen/ bakery experience required
- Comfortable producing a variety of baked goods, not just bread
- Ability to follow recipes with precision and consistency
- Ability to work early morning shifts reliably
- Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Team player with a positive, steady work style
Preferred (Not Required)
- Artisan bread or sourdough experience
- High-volume or production bakery background
- Culinary or baking education
- Experience with deck or stone ovens
