Maintenance Technician Job Description

Our client, a Commercial Real Estate company needs a Maintenance Technician to join their team.

Job Description – The Maintenance Technician will primarily focus on supporting the property management company with periodic maintenance responsibilities around leased buildings. With excellent attention to detail, the Maintenance Technician will work repairing and resolving building issues, executing on special requests and interacting with the employees/tenants. The successful Maintenance Technician will work with team members and tenants to identify preventative maintenance and ensure safety issues are addressed. Additional responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician include the following:

Responsibilities Include:

1. Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
2. Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
3. Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
4. Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
5. Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
6. Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
7. Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
8. Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped

Position Requirements

1. 2 years of previous Maintenance Technician experience with carpentry expertise a plus.
2. Experience with plumbing and electrical wiring knowledge and capabilities
3. Professional, reliable, flexible and have a positive, can-do attitude.
4. Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize
5. Interpersonal skills to interact well with employees/tenants of the buildings

Education

1. Bachelor’s degree preferred or similar work experience
