Electrical Engineer P.E.

Role Overview: Feller Engineering is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) to serve as a Senior Electrical Engineer and Engineer of Record for our South Florida projects. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a mix of advanced technical design, project management, and official sealing/signing of construction documents. You will be responsible for ensuring the electrical integrity of large-scale commercial, residential, and institutional developments. Key Responsibilities: Engineer of Record: Take ultimate responsibility for electrical system designs, providing signed and sealed drawings for permitting and construction in the State of Florida. Lead Design: Oversee the design of complex power distribution, backup generation (NEC 700/701), lighting control systems, and fire alarm integration. Technical Analysis: Conduct and review high-level engineering studies, including Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination studies (using SKM or ETAP). Project Oversight: Lead projects from initial client briefing through final commissioning, ensuring budgets, codes, and deadlines are met. Quality Control: Perform rigorous peer reviews of MEP sets to ensure interdisciplinary coordination and zero-conflict designs. Client Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for architects, developers, and municipal building officials. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE). Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Florida is mandatory. Experience: 8–12+ years in MEP consulting with a focus on building systems. Software Proficient: Advanced expertise in Revit MEP and AutoCAD; proficiency in electrical modeling software (SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower). Code Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Florida Building Code, and NFPA standards. Preferred Skills Experience with High-Rise Residential or Healthcare (AHCA) projects in Florida. LEED AP or RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification. Strong leadership background with experience mentoring EITs and junior designers.
