Structural Inspector

About the Opportunity

A respected structural engineering firm in Southeast Florida is seeking a Structural Inspector to support threshold inspection and building restoration projects. This role offers the chance to contribute to a variety of structural restoration and new construction assignments within a collaborative and fast-moving environment.

The ideal candidate will have a background in structural inspections, familiarity with the Florida Building Code, and strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct special inspections for structural restoration and new construction projects
  
• Perform inspections of scaffolding and swing stages, with training available if needed
  
• Support Construction Administration activities, including:
  • Shop drawing review
    
  • Review of submittals
    
  • RFI coordination
    
  • Field observations
    
• Attend project meetings with clients, contractors, and design professionals
  
• Manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and deadlines
  
• Create clear, organized, and detailed inspection reports
  

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:

• Completion of a four-year degree program in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
  
• Professional degree in Architecture
  
• Registration as a Building Inspector or General Contractor
  
• Four (4) years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-threshold buildings under the direct supervision of a Special Inspector responsible for the trainee’s work
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  
• EIT certification
  
• Active PE, RA, BN, CGC, or Building Inspector license
  
• Experience with concrete restoration work
  
• Prior experience performing Threshold Building inspections
