Diesel Technician
As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for the fleet and daily maintenance of tractors and trailers. Your duties will include performing basic preventative maintenance such as tire changes, oil changes, and working with starters, alternators, water pumps, and AC systems. You will ensure the proper upkeep of trucks, including their appearance and safety features, both inside and out.
Responsibilities- Perform proper preventive maintenance, including lube, filters, and inspections.
- Conduct tire inspections for tread, inflation, rotation, wear, and alignment.
- Gain more experience with trailers, focusing on components such as side panels, rooftop panels, rear doors, landing gear, and more.
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and adjust brakes proficiently, with basic welding skills as a plus.
- Utilize basic computer skills for company-related initiatives.
- Perform DOT inspections in accordance with FMCSA guidelines.
- Conduct basic accident repairs on tractors or trailers.
- Assist in parts inventory management.
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical assembly repair experience.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Mechanically inclined with skills in welding, diesel engines, hydraulics, and schematics.
- Proficient in brake diagnostics and repair.
- Basic computer skills for completing write-ups.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic welding skills are a plus.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform mechanical repairs.

Work EnvironmentWork in a truck shop environment with shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, excluding weekends. The shop may be hot, so personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots is required. You will utilize hand tools and a roll-around cart with basic tools. There are no certifications or medical requirements for this role.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
