Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Associate to join our finance team. This role is crucial for managing and processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting skills, be proficient with accounting software, and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute to the efficiency of the accounts payable process.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and approvals.


• Manage and reconcile vendor statements, addressing discrepancies promptly.


• Prepare and process payments via various methods, including checks and electronic transfers.


• Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records, including vendor files and payment documentation.


• Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing accruals and journal entries.


• Perform data entry of invoices and other financial information into the accounting system.


• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues with excellent customer service.


• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.


• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.


• Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounts payable function.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.


• Working knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.


• Experience with accounting software; general knowledge is expected.


• Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.


• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Experience in reconciliation and invoicing.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.


• 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.


• Experience with month-end closing procedures.


• Familiarity with financial statements.


• Experience with accounts receivable.


• Experience with billing.


• Experience with sales.
