About This Role
The global collections lead is responsible for managing the overall collections process across the carrier organization at a global scale. The role requires a strong understanding of cash flow management and strategies to unlock business value through data and insights underpinned with process and customer outcome metrics.
As the collections lead you are required to partner with multiple areas across the business including sales finance supply chain and customer service and critically happy ability to build partnership with our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
A senior member of the global order to cash team.
Developing and implementing global collection strategies and policies to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow.
Managing a team of collections specialists to ensure proactive collections take place and a deep understanding of our receivable's balances is understood and actioned.
Ensure the team are fully proficient and trained both in business orientation and in role expectations including internal controls.
Proactively partner with the organization to understand value and drive strong business outcomes.
Proactively manage performance via visual management and lean strategies including championing daily stand up's, metrics and data PDCA and other problem-solving strategies
Ensure the team is fully trained on all pertinent aspects to the various ERP systems including business practices and rules for ERP changes.
Ensure internal controls related to collection related activities are adhered to.
Review and ensure all quality assurance practices and measures are in place (Data Quality & Completeness).
Ensure internal controls related to credit & collection related activities are adhered to.
Support the OTC senior management in settling in new transitions, running day to day operations, including performance management, KPI reporting, personnel management (hiring, development), SOPs and SOX controls framework, incidents and losses, process improvement and communication.
People management activities for the credit management and master data team.
Support quick and effective escalation and resolution of operational issues in the process.
Staying up to date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements to collections.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or general management
8+ years of Order to Cash operations experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Expert in collections knowledge of cash application, Billing, and credit management processes.
Ability to manage multiple conflicting abilities.
Familiarity with any of the major ERP platforms (e.g., SAP or Oracle)
Ability to work in a global, virtual, and matrixed environment including global SSC/GBS environment.
Experience of handing transitions and transformation projects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-- ability to articulate thoughts clearly, active listening and comprehension.
Formal continuous improvement training preferable.
Program and project management experience preferred.
