Description

Deerfield Corporate Services is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This exempt, full-time role reports directly to the Controller and plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of our organization.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for month-end close activities, general ledger reconciliations, accounts receivable and revenue maintenance, audit support, and a variety of core accounting functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with senior leadership.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities and general ledger reconciliations
  
  
• Prepare and analyze asset, liability, and capital account entries
  
  
• Maintain revenue and accounts receivable systems
  
  
• Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and financial reports
  
  
• Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
  
  
• Support annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles
  
  
• Maintain accounting controls, policies, and procedures
  
  
• Prepare payments and verify supporting documentation
  
  
• Research accounting regulations and answer procedural questions
  
  
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and company information
  
  
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned by senior management
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with an Accounting emphasis (or equivalent experience)
  
  
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  
  
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
  
  
• Experience with QuickBooks or an ERP system
  
  
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (filtering, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
  
  
• Experience with intercompany transactions
  
  
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
