Maverick Applied Science, inc. of Palmetto, FL is a nationally recognized engineering consulting firm, specializing in the specification, design, inspection and construction of industrial equipment for corrosive applications. We are a growing consulting company with increasing opportunities and industry demands. One of our primary focuses is detailed engineering, including material selection for piping, ductwork, tanks, stacks and chimney liners, using composite materials. Additionally, we design and provide a unique line of pipe supports for heavy industry.

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic professional to join our team focusing on both procurement management and product cost analysis. This position is ideal for someone who can balance vendor negotiations and sourcing strategies with deep financial analysis of product costs, ensuring the organization achieves both supply chain efficiency and margin optimization. Desired attributes are:

• Ability to balance negotiations with suppliers and in-depth cost analysis.
• Adaptable, able to shift focus between long-term sourcing strategy and immediate cost challenges.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, product-focused environments.
• Project Management experience and/or inventory management is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement & Sourcing

· Utilize procurement strategies that align with business objectives, cost targets, and quality standards.

· Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to optimize pricing, lead times, and reliability.

· Review of vendor and client contracts and agreements, ensuring company and project priorities.

· Communicate with the engineers on contract requirements and monitor vendors to drive continuous improvement.

• Cost Analysis & Financial Insight

· Analyze product and component cost structures to understand drivers of price variability.

· Develop and maintain database and reports to track fabrication progress, schedules, and shipments.

· Review and reconcile quotes, purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Work closely with management to ensure procurement decisions align with budget goals and margin objectives.

· Collaborate with the engineering team to support design development and product drawing release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, cost analysis, or a related role.
• Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Proven vendor management skills in a manufacturing or product-driven environment.
• Proficiency with database systems and advanced Excel or data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and management skills.

Salary based on experience: $75K-$90K plus bonus
