Blueprint-Driven TIG/MMA Welding Specialist

About the role

• Hands-on welding role focused on precision fabrication and repair in a manufacturing setting.
• Daily work includes print reading, layout and fit-up, multi-position welding, and thorough quality checks.
• Operate potentially hazardous equipment with disciplined adherence to safety procedures.
• Collaborate with peers to hit production targets while working independently on assigned tasks.

Core responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to define scope, sequence, and acceptance criteria.
• Collect accurate measurements and plan layouts for efficient fabrication.
• Choose the appropriate process and equipment—commonly TIG and MMA—for each job.
• Prepare parts using angle grinders and related tools; stage and fixture components.
• Align, square, and clamp using calipers, rulers, and precision measuring devices.
• Execute manual and semi-automatic welds in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
• Perform structural and equipment repairs, including gap-filling techniques.
• Inspect welds and assemblies for defects and verify compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain welding gear for safe, reliable performance.

Must-have background

• 5+ years as a professional welder in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency across multiple welding techniques and equipment (e.g., TIG, MMA).
• Comfortable with electrical and manual tools (squares, calipers, etc.).
• Proven ability to read technical documents and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent hand–eye coordination.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Completed a recognized welding apprenticeship program.

Preferred credentials

• CWI or CRAWL certification.
• AWS Professional Welding Certification.
• Experience with both MIG and TIG.

Physical requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Stand for extended periods and perform overhead welding in a physically demanding setting.
