The Work You Will Do:

Under the supervision of the General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel, this position applies his or her legal expertise to assist with legal research in evaluating state statutes and preparation of legal opinions; provide legal counsel on behalf of the Agency on legal matters related to the Medicaid program; interpret state and federal legislation related to Medicaid to include review of bill analysis; draft and analyze legal agreements, memoranda and correspondence; and provide responses to inquiries from Agency staff and members of the public; provide legal review of Medicaid public records responses as requested by management; serve as hearing officer for informal Medicaid cases, prepare and conduct hearing, issue recommended orders and other orders as required.

This position requires excellent legal research skills and high-level attention to detail.

The attorney must be able to assimilate and analyze a variety of legislation and legal concepts relating to Medicaid.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Florida Bar Membership in Good Standing

Two or more years experience in the practice of law, legal research, teaching law or in administrative or judicial hearings.
