Fitness Attendant

Heathrow Country Club is looking for a part time Fitness Attendant. Please review the qualifications before applying.

Fitness Responsibilities:

• Verify membership/ID to confirm membership and age.
• Enforce established policies and procedures diligently.
• Promote a secure workout environment through continuous monitoring of the gym area.
• Offer expertise on fitness equipment, ensuring members’ confidence and optimal performance.
• Maintain pristine conditions on the fitness floor, equipment is sanitized, and ensure weights are organized.
• Ensure proper arrangement of weight benches and machines.
• Uphold cleanliness standards in the fitness center and bathrooms through thorough cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Manage laundry tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrate swift action in emergencies, following protocol with precision.
• Promptly report incidents of injury, theft, damage, or equipment malfunction to the supervisory team.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Foster clear communication with the Fitness Director and Supervisors and diligently fulfill assigned tasks.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• One Year of Customer Service Experience Required.
• Experience in a Fitness Center Setting Preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications Required.

Must be available to work morning and afternoon shifts.

Weekends are required.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Requires the ability to safely lift items up to 30 pounds.
• Continuous walking and standing.
• Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, and repetitive actions.
• Be physically able to reach, bend, and stoop.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
• Must be effective in listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by members, guests, and team members.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor setting, busy and noisy environment.
• Some varied weather conditions are expected with exposure to heat/humidity, or cool/cold weather.
• Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
