Patrol Officer (TWIC)

Job Title: Patrol / Traffic Enforcement Officer.

Location: South Florida Container Terminal (Restricted Port Facility).

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and alert Patrol / Traffic Enforcement Officer to support daily security and traffic operations at a restricted port facility in South Florida. This role requires strong situational awareness, the ability to work outdoors for extended periods, and effective communication skills. The officer will be responsible for patrol functions, traffic control, escorts, and transportation support for authorized personnel.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Patrol & Security Operations:

• Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols throughout the facility to maintain a visible security presence.
• Monitor and report any suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations to the Shift Supervisor.
• Utilize a two-way radio at all times to remain in constant communication with supervision and dispatch.
• Accurately report and document all movements, incidents, and observations per site protocol.
• Be flexible and available to work alternate posts as needed due to call-outs, operational needs, or shift adjustments.

Transportation Duties:

• Provide RTG transport by safely transporting ILA members to and from crane areas as authorized.
• Transport authorized vessel crew members between port locations and cruise-side access points.
• Ensure all transported individuals are properly cleared and comply with facility access requirements.

Traffic Enforcement & Control:

• Perform traffic control duties as needed, including standing outside of vehicles to direct traffic safely.
• Assist with congestion management in active operational zones to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
• Maintain vigilance and situational awareness in high-traffic and high-risk areas.

Escorts & Support:

• Escort authorized vendors, contractors, or visitors within restricted areas of the facility.
• Assist fellow security officers by covering posts and providing restroom break relief (cross-training on all posts provided).
• Follow all access control, escort, and safety procedures at all times.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods.
• Ability to respond quickly to changing operational or security situations.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions precisely.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Required
• Prior security, patrol, traffic control, or port/maritime experience preferred (but not required).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must meet all site and company hiring requirements (background check, drug screening, etc., if applicable).
