Medical Assistant Position - Salem, IL
Position: Medical Assistant
Pay: $18–$20 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
• Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Alternate Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant supports providers and clinical staff by performing both clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare patients, take vital signs, and document medical histories
• Assist providers during exams and minor procedures
• Perform injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing (per state law)
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and infection control standards
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient charts in the EHR
• Support referrals, lab orders, and patient communications
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
• CMA/RMA/CCMA certification preferred
• BLS/CPR certification
• EHR proficiency and knowledge of medical terminology
