Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Chassis Mechanic to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in mechanical repair and maintenance of intermodal chassis and trailers. You will assist experienced mechanics with inspections, repairs, and general shop duties while gaining hands-on training.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of chassis and trailers
• Help repair brake systems, suspension, and basic electrical components
• Perform light mechanical work, including replacing parts and components
• Assist with basic welding and fabrication tasks (training provided)
• Support re-wiring of lights and electrical systems
• Help with tire and wheel maintenance and replacement
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Document basic repair work and assist with inspections
• Perform general shop and yard maintenance as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Mechanical aptitude or interest in hands-on work
• Previous experience in automotive, trucking, or equipment repair is a plus (not required)
• Willingness to learn welding, electrical, and mechanical repair skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
• Basic English communication skills (bilingual is a plus)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance for heavier items)
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding conditions
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

Work Environment

• Shop and yard setting with exposure to outdoor conditions
• Hands-on role involving tools, machinery, and heavy equipment
• Safety gear required (steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection, etc.)
