: A server assistant, also known as a bus person or waiter/waitress assistant, supports the waitstaff in a restaurant or other food service setting by assisting with various tasks that contribute to smooth and efficient service, including clearing tables, replenishing items, and assisting guests. They play a crucial role in ensuring a positive customer experience. Responsibilities:- Customer Service: .Opens in new tab Responding to guest needs and inquiries promptly, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor, and contributing to a positive dining experience.
- Organization and Efficiency: .Opens in new tab Helping to keep the dining area clean and organized, ensuring efficient service flow, and working collaboratively with the team.
- Other Tasks: .Opens in new tab Assisting with cleaning duties, preparing food or drinks, and other tasks assigned by management.
- Table Management: .Opens in new tab Clearing and resetting tables, setting up utensils, napkins, and condiments.
- Assisting Servers: .Opens in new tab Delivering drink refills, providing additional items like condiments or silverware, and relaying special requests to the server or manager.
- Customer Service Skills: Being able to interact with guests in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner.
- Physical Stamina: Being able to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items, and move around the dining area.
- Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and other team members.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring that tables are set up correctly, orders are accurate, and the dining area is clean and tidy.
- Basic Food Handling Knowledge: Understanding how to handle food items and kitchen equipment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Some employers may require this.
- Be proactive and observant: Anticipate the needs of servers and guests.
- Communicate effectively: Relay information clearly and accurately to servers and management.
- Be reliable and punctual: Arrive on time and consistently meet your responsibilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area: Contribute to a positive dining environment.
- Be adaptable and willing to learn: Be open to taking on new tasks and responsibilities.
