Construction Project Accountant
Description
Brodson Construction, Inc. is a boutique construction company with over 30 years of experience in general contracting and construction management in the high-end commercial, residential, hospitality, and retail arenas.
As Project Accountant at Brodson, you will join a dynamic team environment collaborating on exceptional commercial projects across industries. Brodson is proud of its portfolio of work for top-notch clientele throughout Florida and across the United States.
We have projects in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The project accountant will work in our office located in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami. We do not offer remote or hybrid work.
PROJECT ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure consistent billing and financial reporting at project levels by following best practices.
 - Review project budgets, staffing and work plans to guarantee appropriate fees.
 - Offer exact invoices to clients and coordinate consultant payments.
 - Monitor accounts receivable and collection efforts.
 - Work with project managers to ensure accuracy in billings to clients.
 - Prepare invoices making changes and notifying timesheet errors to supervisors.
 - Support analysis and report assigned projects’ financial information.
 - Offer actual costs information to team and conduct transfers.
 - Input owner billings, change and purchase orders, subcontracts and journal entries.
 - Support effective client relationship and submit project invoices.
 - Ensure up-to-date maintenance of client contracts that reflect project needs.
 - Guarantee timely reporting, budgeting, financial management and project forecasting.
 - Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
 - 5-7 years accounting experience with minimum of 3 years in construction accounting.
 - Proven experience in a Project Accountant or similar role in construction industry.
 - Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and financial reporting.
 - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
 - Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
 - Ability to work with project managers and other team members
 - Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
 
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Miami, FL.
