Patient Scheduler
LifeWorks Wellness Center is the largest integrative medicine practice in the US, as well as Florida’s leading natural health clinic. We are proud to provide patients with alternative medical doctors that treat a wide range of chronic health conditions, naturally. People travel from all over the world to see our doctors and receive our lifesaving holistic treatment programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Verify that the patient has attended an appointment with their practitioner within the last year, and has a current (within the last year) practitioner’s order for that treatment or lab test before scheduling treatment to the patient.
- Clarifies and gets an answer in writing in the patient’s chart on any point that is not clear in the patient’s program before scheduling the patient.
- Answering patient questions as relates to scheduling their appointments.
- Scheduling the patient to ensure no delay on treatment and to prevent scheduling conflicts.
- Ensuring that the patient understands what is expected from them on their schedule and has signed that they have received and agreed to their scheduled appointments.
- Rescheduling the patient if they need to cancel or change their appointment(s).
- Ensuring that lab tests are paid for prior to scheduling by sending the patient to checkout to pay for such lab tests, so as to ensure that the specimens collected can be sent out for processing.
- Following up and ensuring that the patient progresses through their treatment program by consistently scheduling through all the steps of their program.
- Maintain medical records in the patient chart. Records all conversations and actions taken with the patient in their chart to ensure chart information is accurate and complete.
- Always maintaining patient confidentiality. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; never discussing confidential LifeWorks Wellness Center matters or policies in front of patients. This includes all treatment rooms and common patient spaces where all conversations can be overheard by patients.
- Serves and protects the Doctor’s practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
- Minimum of 1-year of experience in the medical field.
- Understanding of medical terminology and administration processes.
- Proficient in MS Office, minimum typing speed of 40wpm
- Must be dependable, organized and systematic with an excellent ability to multi-task.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Must have previous scheduling experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1+ years professional experience in a medical setting
- Experience using an EMR system a plus
Must speak English. Must have excellent interactive communication skills, making patients feel comfortable and at ease. Physical Demands of Position:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
- Sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or phone
- Maintain focus and composure in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when speaking with individuals seeking care
- Ability to climb stairs and move between buildings on campus
Hours:
• Full-time, minimum of 37.5 hours per week
• Monday through Friday
