Warehouse Maintenance Technician, Conveyors and ECT
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance; maintain and repair machinery and equipment (i.e., transportation and accumulation conveyors, motors, pneumatic equipment, material handling equipment, etc.) and electrical power system within the distribution facility. This position requires solid trouble shooting skills, along with a solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems used in the distribution centers.
INTERACTION:
- Must be able to communicate and cooperate with supervisor, lead, and coworkers in the company.
- Extensive interactions with other individuals within the distribution center and the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Attends to work orders scheduled by Supervisor.
- Involved in using CMMS system.
- Installs, adjusts, and repairs material handling equipment and special purpose machines, including equipment’s electrical supply lines, piping and tubing, pneumatic controls and hydraulic systems.
- Installs, adjusts, maintains and repairs control components (i.e. photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, etc.).
- Maintains and troubleshoots transportation and accumulation conveyor components (i.e. rollers, belts, motors, and chains).
- Evaluates equipment problem and refers complex situations to supervisor and higher-level mechanics and may assist higher-level mechanics in difficult repairs, part replacements and adjustments.
- May be required to perform other maintenance duties and functions or assist in other departments as needed depending on the needs of the business.

- Ability to work while standing for a long periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders, work on lifts, stoop and bend on a regular basis.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to focus and to differentiate between colors and shades of colors.
- Ability to work in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned environments.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum three years of experience in distribution or manufacturing equipment maintenance.
- Solid knowledge of electrical/electronic, mechanic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Valid driver’s license with class E qualification and clean driving record.
- Experience in operating a variety of hand tools and equipment.
- Must actively participate as a member of the team and be willing to maintain high levels of productivity, occasionally sustaining longer working hours when necessary.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions
- Ability to work independently and safely with limited supervision.
- Attention to detail and established procedures, along with being well organized.
- Solid English language, reading and writing skills.
- Must have solid math and computation skills.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Attainment of annual goals.
- Annual performance appraisal administered by leadership.
Ability to Perform - Description
Must be able to remain in a standing position for long periods of time while completing necessary job duties. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs., necessary to handle/move cartons of merchandise. Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs etc.) to perform essential job functions. Must be able to use stairs to complete essential functions where the department is located. Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to operate assigned equipment and tools to complete job responsibilities. Must have sufficient hand and arm usage to successfully perform essential job functions.
