Senior Accountant (Consultant)
You will work as part of a small team of professionals seeking to assist our clients tackle complex business problems. Our focus is serving clients in the property & casualty insurance industry. We assist them with financial reporting and compliance, financial & regulatory audit preparation and response, consultation on regulatory matters, capital modeling and forecasting, accounting and information systems integration, internal controls design and implementation, reporting to board & investors, state insurance tax compliance, and financial budgeting & forecasting.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of the complexities of insurance financial reporting and compliance - through both hands-on experience and formal training. In your role, you will support select phases of the engagement, including participating in the preparation of statutory annual statements and quarterly reports, preparation of management financial reports, assisting management with reconciling general ledger accounts, and researching accounting and reporting matters.
Specific responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the client, but typical responsibilities may include assisting with banking and cash management, preparing and posting complex journal entries to client general ledgers, assisting with the preparation of statutory annual and quarterly statements, and assisting with state and federal tax compliance.
Work may be required to be performed remotely, at a client location, or a combination of remote and on location depending on client needs. Remote work may be required to be performed from home or at a firm office location.
Minimum Degree Required:
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Applicants with combination of formal education and relevant work experience may also be considered.
Required Fields of Study:
Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer and Information Science, Business Administration/Management, or similar fields

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrates understanding of financial accounting, managerial accounting, financial reporting systems, taxation and compliance, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles
Demonstrates ability to research and analyze client issues, including technical accounting matters
Demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Experience with accounting general ledger systems and other business applications, and the ability to rapidly learn new systems and applications
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of client personnel including senior leadership, in both written and verbal form
Self-motivated and responsible for personal development and growth
Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution
Microsoft Office suite, with expertise in Excel
Familiarity with small business accounting platforms, such as QB, QBO and/or Xero
Professional presentation
Ability to work flexibly, including remotely and at client locations
Ability to travel to client locations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
