Associate Director of Software Engineering

**Job Description Summary**We are looking for an experienced and visionary Associate Director of Software Engineering to lead the development and ongoing support of our next-generation Recruiting Portal. This role will be responsible for building a high-performing engineering team from the ground up, advancing the technical strategy, and delivering a scalable, user-friendly platform that optimizes the recruiting process.**Job Description*****This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.******Please note: This role is not eligible for Work Visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.*****Key Responsibilities:*** Build and lead a software engineering team focused on designing, developing, and maintaining a modern recruiting portal.* Contribute to, and advance, the architecture and technology stack in alignment with business goals and scalability needs.* Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.* Establish engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and agile methodologies.* Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the recruiting platform.* Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.* Manage project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships as needed.**Qualifications:*** 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role.* Proven experience building and scaling web applications or platforms.* Strong understanding of modern front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., Angular/React, Java, Oracle, cloud platforms).* Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices.* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.**Preferred Skills:*** Experience in the Financial Services industry.* Previous experience in solution architecture.* Familiarity with data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).* Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG).* Background in building user-centric platforms with strong UX/UI principles**Education**Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Information Technology, High School (HS) (Required)**Work Experience**General Experience - 6 to 10 years, Manager Experience - 3 to 6 years**Certifications****Travel**Less than 25%**Workstyle**HybridAt Raymond James our associates use five guiding behaviors (Develop, Collaborate, Decide, Deliver, Improve) to deliver on the firm's core values of client-first, integrity, independence and a conservative, long-term view.
