Job Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler with soldering certification to join our production team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience assembling electronic components, performing precision soldering, and following technical documentation. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality finished products that meet industry and customer standards.

The individual will work closely with the operations and engineering teams to provide support on complex products and power circuitry. The individual will work in a highly technical, fast-paced, and result driven startup environment with multifunctional team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform precision soldering of electronic components following IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001).
• Assemble electrical and mechanical components using hand tools, soldering irons, and magnification equipment.
• Interpret and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Wiring Diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOM). Verbal instructions may be necessary for some tasks.
• Inspect solder joints and assemblies to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Conduct rework and touch-up soldering when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and work area.
• Follow ESD-safe handling procedures.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to address defects, process issues, or component discrepancies.
• Record production data and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively and respectfully with cross-functional team members to successfully achieve common goals.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Experience with PCB assembly, wiring harnesses, or cable assemblies
• Knowledge of ESD safety practices.
• Experience working in electronics, aerospace, medical devices, or similar industries.
• Familiarity with basic testing equipment (multimeters, continuity testers).
• English speaking and writing skills.
• Proper documentation to work in the USA

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Soldering certification (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in soldering electronic components, including through-hole and/or surface-mount.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with small components and under magnification.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (basic level).
• Ability to use equipment such as: DMM, oscilloscopes, power supply, data loggers, thermal chambers, microscopes.

General Job Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
• Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
• Must be able and willing to wear a respirator.
• This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
• This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
• Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
