Job Summary
The Shipper serves as the foundation of daily warehouse operations. This role is hands-on and task-driven, focused on the safe, accurate movement of materials and finished goods. Shippers execute core warehouse functions with discipline and consistency, supporting the flow of work that keeps the operation steady and on time.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment in accordance with safety standards.
Pick, stage, and package work orders accurately and efficiently.
Receive incoming materials and perform proper put-away following inventory procedures.
Load and unload trucks while maintaining product integrity and safety.
Pick and stage sales orders for outbound shipment.
Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy efforts.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Communicate issues or variances to the Shipping Lead.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
- Basic warehouse and material-handling knowledge.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Prior warehouse experience preferred
- Experience with FEFO and Inventory Control preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. independently and heavier loads with assistance.
- Tolerance for exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and manufacturing environments.
Education & Experience
- Knowledge of shipping procedures/processes preferred.
- Good math skills and proficient computer knowledge (MS Word and Excel).
- Experience with MRP Systems.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Information & Compensation & Benefits
**Location: **Pompano, Florida
Schedule: Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM
Pay: This position has a salary range of $20.00 The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location
**Bonus Pay: **Meridian offers an incentive plan for 2025 focused on safety, quality, and financial metrics. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn up to $1,520 a year, with earned payments distributed quarterly throughout the year.
