Job Description

We are seeking a diligent Production Technician to ensure the quality of our components through meticulous inspection and precise adherence to established procedures. This role involves managing inventories, performing masking and grit blasting, and utilizing precision measuring equipment to maintain exact specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect serial numbers and part condition to verify if parts are acceptable.
  • Interpret findings from inspection documentation activities and react according to established procedures.
  • Track and manage tooling and consumable inventories.
  • Perform liquid and tape masking on components using various tools and equipment according to WI/Drawings to maintain coating allowances.
  • Conduct manual and robotic pre-process grit blasting for thermal spray on components according to specification and interpret results.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment as required to check work and record results in an electronic database.
  • Perform in-process inspection of own work and the work of others before part movement to the next operation.
  • Operate controls on atmospheric and vacuum furnaces under direct supervision, load and unload own work.
  • Assist operators in setting up their equipment and maintenance of tooling.
  • Operate small cranes and forklifts to move equipment, parts, and material.
  • Enter and confirm required quality documentation data.
  • Report and monitor abnormal production time per production step.
  • Independently carry out assigned technician work and independently correct non-conforming hardware during the reconditioning process.
  • Train entry-level technicians for coating prep, braze, and heat treatment.
  • Set up and install brazing equipment according to process requirements.
  • Execute brazing requirements on gas turbine components as per the required technical specification for joining and putty braze.
  • Advise and participate in the design and fabrication of brazing tools and fixtures as required.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing with specific skills in grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal, blasting, heat treat, machining, or welding.
  • 2+ years of experience interpreting technical drawings or work instructions.
  • 2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, timekeeping applications, and folder structures.
  • 6 months of sandblasting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with power tools like die grinders, right angle grinders, and belt sanders.
  • Experience with grinding, polishing, and finishing techniques.
  • Good knowledge of abrasive materials such as wheels, belts, and discs.
  • Experience with painting and coating is helpful.
  • Mechanically inclined with a willingness to work with hand and power tools.

Work Environment

Our production facility operates on a 1st shift from 5:30am to 4:00pm and a 2nd shift from 3:00pm to 1:30am. The warehouse environment is air-conditioned, organized, and clean, requiring safety shoes rated by ASTM F 2413-05 or ANSI Z41-1999. Employees will rotate between different departments to gain diverse skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jupiter, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
