IT Infrastructure Specialist

Position Overview:
Our client, a leader in the cybersecurity space, is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and optimize their IT infrastructure. This role requires advanced technical skills in networking, virtualization, database administration, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in self-hosted environments and exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Salary Range: $75–$120k + benefits + bonus (flexible based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Networking

• Configure and manage Dell networking equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points

• Design and implement VLANs, routing, and subnetting to optimize traffic flow

• Ensure network high availability using HA configurations such as HSRP, VRRP, and LACP

• Utilize network monitoring tools such as SNMP, Syslog, and NetFlow

Virtualization (Hyper-V)

• Manage virtual machines and allocate resources for optimal performance

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within a Hyper-V environment

SQL Server Administration

• Administer and optimize SQL Server databases, including high availability configurations

• Conduct database performance tuning, query optimization, and implement backup strategies

Load Balancers

• Configure and maintain both hardware and software load balancers, including F5 and HAProxy

• Apply advanced Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing techniques

Systems Administration

• Manage Windows Server environments and Active Directory

• Automate processes using PowerShell scripting

• Monitor and support system health with appropriate tools

• Provide support for Linux systems as needed

Security

• Enforce network security standards, manage patching, and perform vulnerability assessments

• Implement secure communication protocols and access control frameworks such as RBAC and MFA

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

• Design and maintain HA/DR architectures for both hardware and software systems

• Develop and execute comprehensive disaster recovery procedures

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles within complex environments

• Strong expertise in self-hosted and on-premises systems administration

• Proficiency in Dell networking equipment, Hyper-V, SQL Server, and load balancing technologies

• In-depth knowledge of HA/DR solutions and cybersecurity best practices

• Certifications in Dell, Microsoft, Cisco, F5 (or similar) are a plus

• Familiarity with automation tools like PowerShell or Ansible, and experience with cloud integration
