Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Yard Dog Driver:
- Safely hook up, move, and position trailers in tight spaces, docks, and storage spots
- Operate yard trucks (yard mules/hostlers) to move trailers and containers within the yard or between dock doors
- Spot and position trailers safely and efficiently for loading and unloading
- Inspect trailers for damage or safety issues and report findings to supervisors
- Ensure all trailer moves are properly logged and tracked
- Maintain organization of the yard to ensure smooth traffic flow
- Communicate with dispatchers, warehouse, and dock personnel to coordinate trailer movement
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks
- Follow all safety policies, traffic patterns, and procedures on company property
Available shifts:
Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)
Job requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
- Previous experience as a Yard Jockey, Yard Mule Operator, or similar position preferred
- CDL or prior truck driving experience a plus
- Ability to operate tractor-trailer equipment safely in tight spaces
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable and punctual with good communication skills
- Background Check Required
- Drug Test Required
