Tennis Courts Maintenance/Associate

JOB SUMMARY AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position performs responsible semiskilled worker in the maintenance and operation of private country club tennis courts; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Athletic Director.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is light work requiring the exertion of up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
• Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
• Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
• Vocal communication: Required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
• Hearing: Required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
• Visual acuity: Required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and extreme heat.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Cleans and maintains tennis courts and facilities; collects and accounts for fees; assists patrons; court security.
• Cleans courts of sand and debris.
• Maintaining courts, nets and windscreens.
• Collects court fees, records and accounts for monies collected.
• Cleans shop and restrooms, sweeps and mops floors.
• Picks up and disposes of trash.
• Sells merchandise.
• Maintains bulletin board information.
• Performs related tasks as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Tennis court grooming experience preferred.
