STARTING SALARY: $3,269.24 Bi-Weekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee's current rate, whichever is higher.)

DESCRIPTION :
Establishes policies and operating procedures for the Bureau of lnternal Audit and directs it's technical and administrative functions.
Develops annual and long-range audit plans based on the result of risk assessment and directs the implementation of the annual audit plan to ensure financial, compliance and performance audits are conducted pursuant to Florida Statute.
Evaluate management controls designed to safeguard Departmental resources, promote efficiency, and ensure compliance with laws, rules and regulations. Recommends improvements of the controls.
Reviews audit work-papers and audit reports to ensure the quality of audits. Ensures all audits are conducted in accordance with appropriate audit standards. Authorizes the publication of audit and management review reports.
Appraises the adequacy of the action taken by management to correct reported deficiencies. Monitors the implementation of the Department's corrective action plan responding to audits or reviews conducted by the Auditor General and the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability. Provides report to the Secretary on the status of corrective actions.
Performs other related duties as required.
This position is required to comply with Section 215.422, F.S., Prompt Payment Compliance Law.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Knowledge of auditing standards, and Florida Single Audit Act.
Communication skills (including report writing).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to Travel.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience conducting internal audits in accordance with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing published by the Institute of Internal Auditors, Inc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Currently works for or have worked in an Office of Inspector General.
Experience working in an environment where you must keep confidentiality.

Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
