Firefighter/EMT: $50,296.96
Firefighter/Paramedic: $64,296.96
Status: Non-Exempt

Application Requirements
Candidates must complete a city application, possess valid FireTEAM and CPAT certifications via the National Testing Network (NTN), and meet specific eligibility criteria including:

Minimum age of 18
Completion of a background check and compliance with city medical and physical agility standards
Non-tobacco use for at least one year (sworn affidavit required)
Required certifications and licenses at the time of hire, with paramedics completing Seminole County Protocol clearance within 90 days
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Florida State Firefighter certification
EMT or Paramedic certification
Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800 courses within six months of hire
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record
Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO II) certification

Position Overview
This role involves significant independent judgment and initiative in providing fire suppression and emergency medical services under the supervision of a shift Lieutenant. Responsibilities include fire suppression, rescue operations, public safety education, and various non-emergency assistance services.

Essential Job Functions
Fire Suppression and Rescue: Operate firefighting equipment, perform rescue operations, and execute emergency firefighting tasks.
Medical Services: Deliver emergency medical care following national, state, and department standards, depending on EMT or paramedic certification.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, maintain, and promptly report any deficiencies in apparatus and equipment.
Training: Attend ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Public Relations: Engage in community demonstrations and provide non-emergency assistance in line with departmental policies.
Documentation and Communication: Write detailed reports, communicate with emergency staff, and provide calming patient care.
Emergency Preparedness: Support disaster recovery efforts as designated by the City's Emergency Manager.
