Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational institution in North Port, FL, is seeking a full-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers an opportunity to support and enhance the learning experience of students with hearing impairments across all grade levels.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate DHH students into mainstream classrooms.
• Utilize specialized teaching methods, assistive technologies, and munication strategies to facilitate learning.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• municate regularly with parents, specialists, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and needs.

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Experience working with DHH students in K-12 settings.
• Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant munication methods preferred.
• Strong classroom management and munication skills.

Location: North Port, Florida
