Healthcare Construction Director
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Construction Project Director to lead major healthcare construction projects in Tampa, FL or Naples, FL. This direct hire leadership opportunity is ideal for a senior construction professional with deep healthcare project experience, strong financial and operational discipline, and a proven record of delivering complex projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Construction Project Director will provide executive-level oversight for large-scale healthcare projects valued between $70M and $100M, including ground-up and renovation work. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-performing project teams, partner closely with owners and design professionals, and play a key role in the successful delivery of technically complex healthcare facilities across Florida. Key Responsibilities - Lead healthcare construction projects valued between $70M and $100M from preconstruction through completion.- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost control, billing, change management, profitability, and overall financial performance.
- Manage project schedules, quality, safety, risk mitigation, contracts, procurement, and project controls.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders.
- Mentor, develop, and lead project teams while supporting a collaborative, high-performance project culture.
- Support business development and strategic growth by cultivating client relationships and identifying repeat business opportunities. Compensation and Benefits - Salary range: $190,000 to $220,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Lead large-scale healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through completion.- Manage project timelines, budgets, contracts, procurement, project controls, risk, and profitability.
- Provide executive oversight for staffing, project planning, client relationships, and construction execution.
- Develop high-performing project teams and mentor future construction leaders. - 15+ years of commercial construction experience with significant leadership responsibility.
- 10+ years of healthcare construction experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing ground-up and renovation healthcare projects valued between $70M and $100M.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare construction regulations, including AHCA requirements.
- Proven ability to lead multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of contracts, scheduling, project controls, risk management, cost management, and change management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, financial management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be based in Tampa, FL or Naples, FL. Preferred Qualifications - Experience delivering acute care hospitals, medical campuses, specialty hospitals, and other complex healthcare facilities.
- Established relationships within the Florida healthcare construction market.
- Strong business development mindset with the ability to cultivate long-term client relationships and support growth opportunities.
