Superyacht Service Manager
A well-established marina and marine service facility in Pompano Beach, FL is seeking a Service Operations Manager / Project Manager to oversee daily service yard operations and manage marine repair and maintenance projects from start to finish.
The Service Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing service projects across multiple trade departments within a shipyard or marine service environment. This role ensures projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong communication between trade managers, technical teams, and leadership. The Manager, Service Operations provides technical oversight, manages resource scheduling, and ensures work performed across trades aligns with project scope, deadlines, and customer expectations. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality service, operational efficiency, and strong collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee scheduling of labor, resources, and trade teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for trade managers regarding project coordination and technical guidance.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple trades to ensure proper execution of marine repair and service work.
- Ensure all work performed meets established quality standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with department managers to organize project scopes, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Monitor multiple projects simultaneously to ensure progress aligns with deadlines and operational goals.
- Review work orders and service documentation to confirm accuracy of completed work and billing details.
- Identify dependencies between teams and coordinate communication to maintain project alignment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with internal teams regarding project updates, technical issues, and operational priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, maritime studies, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing service projects, preferably within the maritime, shipyard, or marine service industry.
- Strong understanding of maritime industry standards, vessel systems, and marine service operations.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating work across multiple technical departments or trades.
- Ability to interpret technical information and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work independently while coordinating work through cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management or project tracking systems.
