Car Rental and CPO Program Manager (Performance Leader)
Important Notes
This is a hybrid, field-based role, with approximately 13 days per month spent in the territory (roughly 65% travel) and 7 days working remotely
Territory coverage includes the Florida market (excluding the Panhandle), with additional travel to the Georgia coast through Hilton Head
The position supports approximately 60 dealer locations across the territory
Car rental or automotive industry experience is required . Candidates without this experience will not be considered
WHO YOU ARE
You are a highly motivated, people-focused leader with a passion for training, coaching, and developing teams. You enjoy working closely with frontline employees and leadership and have hands-on experience in the car rental industry and/or Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) operations , overseeing multiple locations.
You lead by example, build strong relationships, and proactively identify challenges while offering practical solutions. You demonstrate strong core competencies in accountability, adaptability, communication, emotional intelligence, time management, and relationship-building. You are comfortable working in environments that connect rental, fleet, and CPO programs and understand how these functions drive performance and profitability. WHAT YOU WILL DO As a Performance Leader, you will join the NRC Team and work closely with car rental leadership, CPO stakeholders, and frontline sales teams across your assigned territory. You will manage all aspects of client interaction, from relationship management to hands-on coaching and development of frontline producers.
This role requires frequent travel within the territory and the ability to work independently while maintaining strong alignment with internal and client stakeholders. HOW YOU WILL DO IT
You will be responsible for associate training and development and the overall profitability of multiple rental car branches and CPO-supported operations within your territory. Your focus will include consultative, service-based sales leadership, CPO program support, rental car inventory and utilization management, and sales and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with FPG clients to effectively manage rental car and CPO operational processes
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with client leadership teams
- Driving incremental sales through effective training and employee development
- Supporting Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program execution, including sales processes and performance improvement
- Managing rental car inventory and utilization across multiple locations within the territory
- Providing ongoing consultative support to dealerships where CPO programs are in place
- Maintaining accurate and timely operational and performance reports
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education and work-related experience
- 3+ years of car rental industry experience and/or Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) operations
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Experience managing direct customer contact, employee relations, budgets, and P&L in a high-volume operation
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven, team-oriented leadership style with a track record of success
- Ability to attract, coach, and develop talent
- Working knowledge of sales, inventory, and performance reporting systems
