PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The primary purpose of the Quick Lube Technician position is to perform routine vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, fluid checks, and other preventative maintenance procedures in a timely and efficient manner. The Quick Lube Technician ensures high-quality service to customers, maintains equipment and work areas, and follows safety protocols. This role contributes to the overall success of the service department by delivering reliable and professional maintenance work, promoting customer satisfaction, and supporting the team in achieving service goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs fluid and filter maintenance according to manufacturers recommendations.
- Performs all aspects of tire services.
- Communicates with Service Consultant immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed with in the promised time.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician. Records mileage driven on test on the repair order.
- Ensures that the customers vehicle is kept clean. Notifies the Service Consultant immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keep shop area neat and clean.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership owned tools and manuals. Returns them to their proper place and in the same condition as received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested.
- Picks up parts from the Parts Department as directed.
- Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
- Replenishes supplies as requested by technicians or Shop Manager.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Attends training classes and departmental meetings.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- When no vehicles are available to service, will be assigned various tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida driver license
- Preferred 3-6 months related experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
- Math skills
- Reasoning skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. S/he is required to sit, climb or balance and taste/smell. S/he must lift within the parameters of the responsibility of the job. S/he must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. S/he will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, wet and/or humid conditions, the risk of electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals, high noise levels and explosives.
