Objective

To perform tasks aligned with the plaster operations to accurately represent the desired look and feel of a client’s proposed project and provide an excellent finished product representing the skills and capabilities held by the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Level I: Hourly Rate of $17.50 – $23.00

  • Responsible for adhering to all Company and Project safety programs, policies, and procedures as well as all Federal, State, and local safety codes and regulations
  • Basic occupational ability where simple and precise tasks are performed by rote or habit and thinking is limited by established and set procedures.
  • Prep, setup and cleanup of plaster operations to include cleaning of all plaster mixers, plastering machines (plaster guns and hoses), and spoils and debris.
  • Assists in the operation and maintenance of plaster pumps and air compressors.
  • Mixes materials and assists craft workers in building rebar armature, lathing/backing, structure and texture shoots.
  • Operates various “industry standard” power and hand tools in accordance with company operating procedures and safety standards.
  • Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.

    Level II: Hourly Rate of $24.00 - $28.00

    In addition to above:

  • Preparing substrate, materials, tools, and equipment for plaster operations
  • Familiar with the properties of and be able to mix all types of plastering materials.
  • Applying the base or scratch coat to ensure that it adheres firmly to lath or other subsurface.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly.

    Level III: Hourly Rate of $29.00 - $33.00

    In addition to above:

  • Applying various type of finish coat.
  • Operate or tend machines to mix or blend any of a wide variety of material and move the hose.
  • Starts and stops machine on signals from Plasterer.
  • Fills hopper of machine with plaster.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance (excluding mechanical repair), oiling, gassing, greasing and cleaning of all plaster mixers and plastering machines, pipes and the handling of hoses (including extensions)
  • Assists in modifying scaffolds with direction from competent scaffold.
  • Responsible for adherence to cement mix design specification of project requirements.
  • Responsible for general review of finished activity.

    Level II: Additional Requirements

  • Good knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand written procedures which apply directly to job duties
  • Applied craftsmanship in plastering in various and sundry materials.

    Level III: Additional Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of plastering trade practices and must be skilled in applying work methods and techniques.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of site equipment and building techniques.

  • While performing the duties of this job, this is primarily an in-field position and change of work hours will be determined by the Superintendent (based on daylight hours and project needs).
  • General Hours: 6am – 2:30pm (MON-FRI)
    • 30-minute lunch (unpaid)
    • 15-minute break (paid)
  • Work environment will change often and will require consistent awareness to surroundings and potential dangers to themselves and others.
  • May be required to work under extreme environmental conditions and work from excessive heights with high reach equipment and/or scaffolding elevations.
  • Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. with assistance from others or lifting devices from floor to waist and waist to floor.
  • Ability to walk, hear, see in order to reasonably perform essential job functions.
  • Must have agility and a good sense of balance, willing to work in high places.
