Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
A professional commercial property management team in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations of a Class A office building serving primarily government tenants. This is a hands-on, full-time direct hire opportunity for a skilled building maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting HVAC systems, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping facilities operating safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Maintenance Manager and property management team in a well-maintained, professional environment where reliability, ownership, and quality service are highly valued. Key Responsibilities - Perform preventative maintenance, general building repairs, and routine inspections across the property.- Monitor, troubleshoot, and complete minor repairs on HVAC systems and related components.
- Handle minor plumbing, roof, window, door leak, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry-related repairs as needed.
- Coordinate with HVAC vendors, specialty contractors, property management, and tenants to support maintenance projects and service requests.
- Maintain equipment logs, order supplies, manage shop inventory, and keep maintenance areas clean and organized.
- Assist with life safety inspections, severe weather preparation, emergency response, and energy efficiency improvements. Compensation and Benefits - Pay: $31.00 to $35.00 per hour.
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.
- Work Arrangement: 100% onsite.
- On-Call: Rotating on-call schedule every other two weeks for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs for a Class A commercial office building.- Troubleshoot HVAC systems and complete minor repairs on components such as condenser fans, capacitors, contactors, blower motors, and condensate pumps.
- Support building inspections, life safety maintenance, equipment logs, and emergency response activities.
- Coordinate maintenance work with contractors, vendors, tenants, and property management. - 5+ years of commercial building maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and general commercial building maintenance.
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or carpentry repairs.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot building systems independently.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE requirements.
- Strong organization, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to provide excellent service to tenants, vendors, contractors, and internal team members.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, bend, work on rooftops, and frequently work with arms above shoulder level.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must successfully pass company pre-employment screening and a federal GSA background investigation. Preferred Qualifications - EPA Certification.
- Electrical Certification.
- Plumbing Certification.
- Mechanical Certification.
- Technical or trade school education in construction, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, mechanical systems, or a related field.
- Equivalent hands-on experience in commercial facilities maintenance will also be considered.
