Job Summary

Gulf Marine Repair is seeking a reliable and hardworking Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our facilities. This role is essential in supporting daily operations by ensuring a clean and organized environment across office spaces, restrooms, work areas, and outdoor grounds in a marine/industrial setting.

Essential Functions

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms; restock supplies and remove waste.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, common areas, and workspaces.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces including desks, counters, and windows.
  • Remove trash and debris from assigned areas, including shop and yard spaces.
  • Assist with setting up meeting rooms, training areas, and company events.
  • Lock and unlock buildings; ensure facilities are secure when not in use.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including picking up trash and removing debris.
  • Support general facility upkeep, including moving furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, especially within an industrial/marine environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work in an shipyard/marine repair environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • (2) years of custodial or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in industrial, shipyard, or commercial cleaning environments is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)

Work Environment

  • This position operates in both indoor and outdoor environments, including office spaces, shipyard areas, and repair facilities. Exposure to noise, equipment, and varying weather conditions is expected.
