As a Mechanic Assistant, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in The Villages, FL , you’ll have the opportunity to support senior mechanics by performing routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake pad replacements, and fluid checks. Maintain shop safety and cleanliness, organize tools, assist with diagnostics, and handle basic repairs, providing essential hands-on support to improve workflow efficiency. This role is an entry-level position designed to train assistants for advancement to certified diesel mechanic.

Core Responsibilities

• Routine Maintenance: Perform oil changes, replace filters, rotate tires, check fluids, and replace bulbs, wipers, and batteries.

• Technical Assistance: Help senior mechanics with engine repairs, transmission work,

electrical system troubleshooting, and suspension adjustments.

• Shop Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, including cleaning bays and cleaning/storing tools.

• Administrative Tasks: Document part usage, update maintenance logs, and occasionally assist with customer service by explaining repair needs.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all procedures follow OSHA and company safety standards

Here's what you'll need

  • Willing to train the right candidate.
• Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge, understanding of automotive systems, and proficiency with hand tools.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy parts, bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods.
• Attributes: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Posted Salary Range: Upper

The base salary range for this position is $37,440.00 to $41,600.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
