The Endoscopy Technician assists the physician with all endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGD), ERCP, flexible sigmoidoscopies, and EUS. In this tole, you will ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of all endoscopes and completion of all documentation logs and records. You will also assist the RN with patient care, including the admission of patients, setting up rooms, transporting patients, patient recovery, and the final cleaning of rooms. This opportunity will help you gain experience in advanced procedures while being part of a leading healthcare organization. **A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM - 5:00PM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Assist nurses and physicians in all aspects of GI procedures (e.g., assistance with the stocking of all rooms with equipment and supplies and maintaining proper procedures for the cleaning and storage of endoscopes). + Change chemical sterilant and clean scope washer according to policy. + Assess endoscopes daily and report any damage to the director. + Prepare and send out scopes for repair after notifying director. + Assist in the orientation of new personnel to all in room procedures and to the process for cleaning and disinfection of scopes. + Perform clerical duties if needed in the absence of the scheduler. + Transport specimens according to policy using universal precautions. + Make pre-op calls to patients to obtain preliminary information. + Identify opportunities for cost savings and make full use of existing resources.
