To support this exciting future, we are hiring a Director of Business Development to join our US team.

The Opportunity

simpleshow/D-ID is seeking an experienced Business Development leader to architect and lead our next-generation sales development function. We are looking for someone who will push the boundaries of the status quo and pioneer what our B2B sales development looks like in 2026 and beyond.

You’ll be a great fit for our Director of Business Development role if you get energized by building systems to overachieve on pipeline goals and want to lead a team of BDs to reach new heights. The existing team has a foundation of 3 BDs, aiming to scale to 7+ and transform the BD function into a high-performing, scalable unit powered by cutting-edge automation, data-driven playbooks, and modern outbound strategies.

What You'll Do

Modernize our Sales Development Playbook

  • Design and implement omni-channel prospecting strategies that blend cold calling, AI-powered email sequences, LinkedIn automation, and emerging channels

  • Enhance the usage and automation of our sales tech stack to create scalable, repeatable pipeline generation (our stack currently includes: SalesLoft, Zoom Info, GMass, Yesware, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and more)

  • Build data-driven frameworks that optimize every stage of the funnel—from MQL to SQL to qualified opportunity

  • Test, iterate, and innovate prospecting methodologies to keep us ahead of the curve

Lead & Develop a High-Performance Team

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and create a culture of continuous improvement for the existing and future BDs

  • Establish coaching and performance frameworks, to attract and retain top talent

  • Scale the team from 3 to 7+ BDRs while maintaining quality and elevating performance standards

Own Pipeline Generation & Growth

  • Drive quarterly and annual pipeline targets through a mix of inbound optimization and outbound innovation

  • Monitor & optimize key metrics; activity levels, conversion rates, meeting quality, etc

  • Implement lead scoring, routing, and qualification processes to maximize SQL conversion

  • Partner with Marketing to refine MQL criteria and provide feedback loops that improve campaign effectiveness

Collaborate Across Revenue Functions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders from Marketing, Sales, Product, and Customer Success

  • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights gathered from prospect conversations

We want to hear from you if:

You're a Modern Sales Development Leader with

  • 3+ years building and scaling high-performing BDR/SDR teams in B2B SaaS

  • A track record of consistently exceeding pipeline generation quotas

You're a Growth Automation Advocate with

  • Hands-on expertise with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement platforms (Outreach, SalesLoft, etc)

  • You've built email sequences that convert, designed cadences that resonate, and implemented workflows that scale

  • You're excited about AI-assisted prospecting, predictive analytics, and the next wave of sales development technology. Better yet, you’ve implemented these processes!

  • Data-based approach to find and implement the next optimization opportunity

You're Agile & Impact-Focused

  • You thrive in environments where priorities shift and adaptability is essential

  • You can pivot to reallocate resources and adjust expectations without missing a beat

  • You bring both strategic thinking and roll-up-your-sleeves execution

  • Outstanding communication skills to translate strategies into clear action plans

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience in AI, video technology, martech, or digital content creation industries
  • Track record building BD teams in high-growth startup environments
  • Familiarity with API-based products and developer ecosystems
  • Understanding of generative AI technologies and enterprise applications

Location

We’re open to remote applicants in EST or CST to best collaborate with leadership in Europe and team members throughout the US, with a willingness to travel to Miami, FL, or other locations for Sales meetings, when required.

Salary

A reasonably estimated base salary for this role at D-ID is $80,000 to $110,000 (depending on experience) with a variable commission/bonus plan, based on pipeline quota achievement. Plus, access to our Employee Stock Option Program.

Our hiring process

We have structured our Interview process to mirror the Sales process. This allows you to showcase your sales skills while we get to know you as a person and a sales professional. Along the way, you’ll learn more about simpleshow/D-ID, our teams, and the details of this opportunity.

As we are a remote company, our recruitment process is also entirely remote, utilizing video conferencing (Zoom or Google Meet). If your application is selected to enter the interview process, you can expect multiple interview stages, including an assignment.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible (we'll work with your existing commitments) a reasonably expected start date is sometime in December or January.
