The Impact You Will Make

The Crematory Operator will own the safe and successful operation of the crematorium and adjacent facilities. As an ambassador for Everstory Partners, you will ensure our crematorium is always presentable, compliant, and safe for our visiting families .

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe operation of all equipment and maintain the crematorium, equipment and adjacent facilities
  • Care for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing all the tasks involved in the cremation process
  • Remove and transport deceased from hospitals, medical examiners/coroners’ offices and family residences
  • Deliver cremated remains to the appropriate funeral home
  • Coordinate the preparation and issuance of permits and documents associated with funerals and embalming. This includes a death certificate, permits from the coroner, writing embalming case study and others as required
  • Receive remains and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
  • Complete all required documentation with respect to cremation process and equipment maintenance
  • Finalize details discussed during arrangement conferences
  • Direct funeral services and visitation, including greeting family members, opening parlor, coordinating and instructing pallbearers, greeting and escorting clergy to chapel. May assist with funerals while not acting as primary director or act as hearse or limousine driver when needed
  • Handles the day-to-day general janitorial duties to ensure upkeep of Crematory
  • Strict adherence to all professional, municipal, state and federal licensing authority regulations applicable to the cremation of human remains
  • Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment

Qualifications

  • Must actively possess all crematory operator certifications, licenses, or other credentials required by applicable state or local law.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience.
  • Must comply with all company policies and maintain confidentiality of employee, customer, and operational information.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to effectively and quickly complete tasks and assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read and execute memos and directives from supervisors and/or management
  • Organized and detail oriented, with proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Personable and professional demeanor with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in an area with elevated temperatures or sudden temperature changes
  • Must be willing and able to wear safety equipment such as; heat protected gloves, face shield and apron
