Summary

Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst supports the Budget team to develop/produce the organization's annual budget including financial analysis as well as developing periodic and ad hoc reports. Works with department Financial Managers and other staff in the compilation of information related to expenditure and revenue budgets. Performs month end close duties that include preparing journal entries, general ledger analysis, and review of actuals versus budget. Reviews payroll and accounting transactions, verifies budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with organizational regulations and restrictions. Assists in identifying and evaluating opportunities to improve organizational and financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development of various budgets and budget projections as assigned.
• Works as directed to analyze budget patterns, review projected revenues and expenditures and prepare annual budget.
• Collaborates with Information Technology and Finance departments to automate and enhance financial reporting.
• Prepares journal entries for month end close.
• Performs general ledger analysis of all expense accounts.
• Reviews actuals versus budget and ensure balances are reasonable.
• Prepares financial analyses and completes other special projects as requested.
• Provides budgeting and reporting assistance across the organization to all levels of staff.

• Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Experience

Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related experience.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field is required.

Credentials

Active license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
