Reporting to the Regional Project Management Director, the Project Manager will lead design projects consisting of multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and architects from design kick-off through construction. The Project Manager leads design projects by effective, skilled project management techniques to enhance design solutions, drive successful outcomes, and add value to the business. You’ll play an integral role in forming long-term client relationships, engaging team members on projects, and collaborating with talented resources throughout Jacobs. We are looking for self-motivated personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio or remote environments
The position is in the Federal Buildings Business Unit , and the project type is majority US Federal Government facilities that are contracted by Department of Defense clients (USACE, NAVFAC, etc.) as well as Federal Civilian clients to include NASA, FAA, GSA, OBO and Intelligence Community amongst many others to include Defense Contractors.
The position is hybrid with a minimum office attendance of two days per week in the office, but more days are encouraged to become more engrained with the culture of Jacobs.
Responsibilities :
Type of Work
- Work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering on time, within project and construction budgets and in accordance with agreed-upon scope.
- Serving as the primary point of contact with the client throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Developing project scopes and fee proposals through coordination with discipline leads, and leading negotiations with clients.
- Creating and facilitating communication plans to ensure timely and effective information exchange among project stakeholders and conducting regular status reviews with project teams and clients.
- Establishing, monitoring, and managing project financial metrics, schedules, and staffing plans.
- Overseeing the development and quality of project documentation and ensuring adherence to the Jacobs Quality Program.
Team Development Responsibilities :
- Provide staffing development and mentoring for junior staff to include ensuring quality delivery of product completed by all supervised by Civil Engineer
- Provide project quality control reviews at project milestones and continuous “over-the-shoulder” discipline checks
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture
- Professional Registration (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) is preferred; Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification will be considered
- 5 years’ Experience as a client facing Design Project Manager managing multiple disciplines
- US Citizenship
- Overseas & US based travel may be required
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Previous DoD experience, basic competency with Unified Facility Criteria (UFC), UFGS and other Government requirements
- Design Build experience and DBIA certification
- Clearance or ability to secure a clearance

The base salary range for this position is $135,000.00 to $175,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
